Mbabane: A 34-year-old man from Maduna has died at the Mbabane Government Hospital while undergoing treatment for severe injuries.
He was pronounced dead by medical staff at around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10. The man had been admitted the previous evening, Monday, June 9, at 8:30 p.m., after being brutally beaten with a sjambok across his entire body by known individuals in the Esitibeni area.
The Royal Eswatini Police Service promptly launched an investigation into the attack, which resulted in the arrest of six male suspects aged between 21 and 45. The suspects—aged 21, 32, 34, 34, 35, and 45—are from both the Esitibeni and Mpolonjeni areas.
Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, Chief Police Information and Communications Officer, confirmed the details on behalf of the National Commissioner of Police and emphasized that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
