Three people died on Sunday over traffic and stabbing.
Mbabane – In two separate traffic incidents, a 73-year old passenger being rushed to the hospital died after head-on collision while a 27-year old pedestrian was knocked down dead by a bus yesterday, the police reported.
Chief Police Information and Communications Officer (PICO) Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati issuing the police reports said the three deaths occurred at Ka Ncesi, Mliba and Kakhoza at different times on Sunday.
With the stabbing, at Kakhoza, Manzini, Vilakati said that at 0300 hours yesterday, a 30-year-old man died after sustaining multiple wounds from being stabbed twice on the collarbone and forehead with a sharp object by a known man. Vilakati said the deceased was certified dead upon arrival at the Raleigh Fitkin Memorial (RFM) Hospital and that the suspect has been arrested.
Vilakati said the traffic accident that claimed the life of a 73-year old man occurred at Kamtjopane area along Maphalaleni/ ka Ncesi public road. She said at 1750 hours, a motor vehicle Toyota Corolla that was driven by an old man of Ekuvinjelweni collided with a Ford Bantam driven by a 37 year old man of Maphalaleni area.
“A 73 year old man passenger of the Ford Bantam who was sickly and being conveyed to Mbabane Government Hospital for needle pains became unconscious without injuries and was conveyed to Mbabane Government Hospital where he was certified dead upon Arrival,” Vilakati said.
She also said at 1400 hours at Mzaceni along Magoga/Madlangempisi MR6 Public road, a public service vehicle ‘Man’ bus, driven by a 40 year old man of Msahweni knocked down a 27 year old man pedestrian of Mzaceni who sustained serious injuries all over the body. He was taken to Dvokolwako health Centre where he was certified dead upon arrival.
