Mbabane: Their Majesties, the King and the Queen Mother have declared Thursday, February 18, 2021 as a National Day of Prayer and Fasting.
The Minister said the prayer items will be: Arresting the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic; National healing and restoration from the devastating effects of COVID-19; Economic recovery and national prosperity as well as God’s mercy and forgiveness for the country as individuals and as a Nation.
This announcement was made by the Minister of the Home Affairs Princess Lindiwe on behalf of Their Majesties, on Wednesday afternoon.
The Prayer and Fasting will be followed by a National Prayer Service to mark the beginning of the Year; which will be held virtually on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 10am.
The theme for this year’s service will be themed: “Let us go back to the Lord, He will heal our land” (Hosea 6:1).
“After the fast, the Nation is requested to continue in prayer. The Nation is advised to follow the National service on all available electronic media broadcasting platforms, EBIS and Eswatini TV,” said the Minister.
