Mbabane: The late Lawyer Lindifa Mamba’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13 at the Worship Centre Mbabane from 11am.

Mamba will then be laid to rest on Sunday, December 12 at his parental homestead at Engudzeni in the Shiselweni region. There will be no night vigil as per COVID-19 regulations.

This details were revealed by the death notice published by the Law Society of Swaziland (LSS) on its official Facebook page on Thursday.

The most decorated lawyer’s father George Mamba said the COVID-19 Task Team had informed them to adhere to all COVID-19 regulations during the funeral. Mamba said even the memorial service will be held following the strict COVID-19 regulations.

The Senior Counsel succumbed to COVID-19 related after he was admitted at Lubombo Referral Hospital.

Mamba had a BA, LLB and was an attorney with about 30 years’ experience, in particular in commercial and civil law. Several prominent people have died of suspected COVID-19 related illnesses and these include former Hhohho Regional Administrator Prince Tshekedi, former Senator Chief Nzameya Nhlabatsi, Eswatini Building Society Managing Director Tim Nhleko and former Mbabane Highlanders Football Club coach Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati.

The appointment was made through Legal Gazette No.4 of 2020 and was for a period of three years. The committee had a task of reviewing over 10 cases forwarded to it by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) when its report was adopted by the House of Assembly about two weeks ago.

In September 2015, the late attorney was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of South African Coal Mining Holdings Limited, where he was described as a Senior Partner of LR Mamba and Associates, a director of a number of private companies and legal advisor to a number of parastatals in Eswatini.
