Mbabane– Two armed robbers allegedly took their time inside a Pine Valley home after tying up a 36-year-old man, even stopping to drink his alcohol before escaping with cash and valuables worth E19 000.
The bizarre robbery happened on Monday night at about 7pm, according to the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS).
One of the suspects, wearing a balaclava and gloves and armed with a pistol, allegedly entered the man’s house, tied him up and demanded money.
He was then locked inside a toilet while the suspect searched through the house.
Police said a second suspect later joined the robbery and the two continued searching the rooms.
During the alleged robbery, the suspects reportedly found the victim’s alcohol and sat down to drink it.
The victim remained locked inside the toilet until about 2am, when the suspects allegedly returned, untied him and fled from the property.
They reportedly got away with E7 000 cash, jewellery worth E6 000 and a Samsung cellphone valued at E6 000.
REPS is now appealing to members of the public who may have witnessed suspicious activity around Pine Valley that night to come forward.
