Mbabane: Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Pholile has official launched the beginning of the exercise to draft a Child Protection Guide.
The guide will be meant for Criminal Justice Practitioners to address gaps and challenges in the implementation of law in cases involving children.

Minister Shakantu said the practical guide will be a valuable tool to all criminal justice respondents because it will address issues of children who come into contact with the law, child victims or child witnesses.

She added that children are the future of the nation whether the child is an offender, a victim or a witness, the criminal justice system has to be child sensitive. All children should be treated in a humane manner.

Shakantu said she trust that the practical guide will help build a protective environment for children as they interact with the justice system in whatever capacity.
