JOHANNESBURG— South African DJ and entrepreneur DJ Zinhle has reflected on the success of Omoda Zee Nation Fest, thanking the fans, team, family, sponsors and partners who helped turn her festival dream into reality.
Taking to social media, DJ Zinhle expressed gratitude to God and described the festival as a reminder that dreams can become reality with determination, support and faith.
“Glory to God. He really did it!” she wrote, adding that Zee Nation Fest should serve as a reminder that “you can do anything.”
The DJ reserved special appreciation for her fans, whom she affectionately referred to as her “Bestie”, crediting them for supporting the festival throughout the planning and promotional period.
She thanked them for buying tickets, sharing promotional posts, sending messages of encouragement and ultimately showing up for the festival.
“Thank you for believing in me and in Zee Nation Fest. We did it together,” she said.
Beyond the festival day itself, DJ Zinhle acknowledged the months of preparation and the challenges that came with bringing the event to life. She revealed that the journey included moments when plans did not go as expected and when giving up could have seemed like the easier option.
However, she and her team chose to persevere.
The DJ also singled out members of her team and collaborators, including Omoda, Zee Nation Fest colleagues Brandon Reynolds, Zenzele and Thabiet T Amardien, for standing with her throughout the demanding planning process.
Her appreciation extended to the wider community behind the festival, including her team, family, sponsors, suppliers, industry colleagues and friends.
“This festival may have started as our dream, but it took a village of incredible people to make it a reality,” she said.
DJ Zinhle also used the opportunity to encourage emerging creatives, promising to continue sharing the knowledge and opportunities she has gained throughout her career.
“I may not always have all the answers, but I promise to keep showing up, opening every door I can, sharing everything I’ve learnt and believing in you,” she wrote.
Looking ahead, she expressed hope that Zee Nation Fest’s current success will eventually be remembered as the beginning of something much bigger.
“I pray that one day we look back at these moments and realise that this was only the beginning,” she said.
The festival’s success appears to have reinforced DJ Zinhle’s belief in the power of collaboration, community and persistence. For her, Zee Nation Fest was more than a one-day celebration—it was a collective achievement built through months of hard work and the belief of those around her.
