MANZINI– Young women across Eswatini have been invited to apply for the 2026 Miss Cultural Heritage pageant, with organisers describing the competition as a platform to nurture cultural ambassadors dedicated to preserving and promoting the country’s rich heritage.
Applications officially opened on 14 July 2026 and will close on 7 September 2026. The pageant is organised by the Pageants Eswatini Association under the auspices of the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC).
The Miss Cultural Heritage pageant is guided by the Eswatini National Arts and Culture Policy, which recognises pageants as important platforms for promoting culture and the arts. The policy states that pageants contribute to the preservation and promotion of culture in the Kingdom and should be supported as tools that empower participants while advancing the country’s cultural identity.
ENCAC Chief Executive Officer Stanley Dlamini encouraged eligible young women to take advantage of the opportunity, saying the pageant aligns with the council’s mandate to preserve Eswatini’s cultural heritage.
“The Miss Culture pageant aligns with ENCAC’s mandate to promote and preserve culture. I am calling on all young women interested in playing a part in safeguarding our cultural heritage to register and participate. This pageant also offers young women the chance to develop their livelihoods through charitable activities. Most importantly, it serves as an educational platform to instil respect and discipline. We are encouraging widespread participation so we can cultivate the next generation of cultural ambassadors,” said Dlamini.
Reigning Miss Cultural Heritage Queen Yoliswa Manana echoed the call, stressing that the competition is more than a beauty pageant.
“This is not merely a beauty contest but a tool to teach young women about the importance of discipline and respect. The pageant also highlights the significance of preserving and promoting our culture, which is a vital responsibility for us as young people. I encourage all young women in the kingdom to apply for this year’s pageant and play their part in the promotion and preservation of our cultural heritage,” she said.
To qualify, applicants must be Eswatini citizens and residents aged between 18 and 26 years by the day of the crowning. Contestants must not be in high school and must be unmarried, without children or pregnancy. They must also have no visible tattoos, no criminal record and be of good moral character. Successful contestants will be required to attend cultural events organised by ENCAC, participate in a cultural boot camp and uphold the values of the pageant throughout their
