Mbabane: Prime Minister Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini says the new Eswatini Trade Information Portal (ETIP) will provide a simpler, faster and lower cost trade facilitation environment for small, big, national & international businesses.
The PM has been speaking at the launch of ETIP which is a digital one-stop shop for all trade related information in Eswatini.
The Portal contains more than 430 documents from at least 22 different sources including legal documents, procedures, measures, forms, trade agreements & other pertinent market intelligence. It can be accessed on: www.eswatinitradeportal.gov.sz
Prime Minister said the country’s trade information was kept in different Agencies and Ministries. From a perspective of a trader, this was cumbersome, not smart, time consuming and very costly. “Today, we are establishing a “one stop shop” for trade information; which goes live for the world to see.” Dlamini said.
Dlamini said this portal is regarded as a window into the Kingdom, and it could not have come at a better time than this. The portal concept was born out of a need to make all trade regulatory information easily and readily accessible to the business community both in Eswatini and beyond borders.
Premier added that the Portal will provide the business community with complete, timely and up-to-date information relating to trade from a single website that is comprehensive in scope, user friendly, interactive and accessible, using a single search engine.
Minister of Commerce Industry and Trade Senator Manqoba Khumalo said he have no doubt that ETIP will peg Eswatini in an advantageous position within the global trade space.
Federation of Eswatini business Community (FESBC) Vice President Hezekiel Mabuza Such online portal will provide Micro Small Medium Enterprises with information on business service providers from various regions and industries, available training plus advisory services, business development and export promotion opportunities.
