Mbabane – Three Hholoshini men accused of murdering a 44-year-old man they allegedly suspected of having an affair with their biological mother have been remanded in custody by the Mbabane Magistrate’s Court.
Mlondi Mbuli (25), Lindani Mdziniso (23) and Sakhelwe Mbuli (18) appeared before Principal Magistrate Sfiso Vilakati on a charge of murder. They were remanded in custody until July 10, 2026, pending committal to the High Court.
The court advised the accused that any application for bail should be made before the High Court. They were also informed that, because of the seriousness of the charge, the State would provide legal representation during their trial.
According to the charge sheet, the three accused, acting in furtherance of a common purpose, allegedly assaulted Njabulo Ngwenya with bricks, stones, sticks, open hands and kicks all over his body on June 28, 2026, at Hholoshini in the Hhohho Region. The injuries allegedly resulted in his death.
Court documents state that the accused allegedly attacked Ngwenya after accusing him of having an extra-marital affair with their biological mother.
The matter came to light after Sibongile Motsa (64), of Hholoshini, reported to police that she had found her son, Njabulo Ngwenya (44), lying dead inside her sister’s house at about 1am on June 28. She alleged that he had been assaulted by three men using stones and bricks.
Police investigations identified the three men as persons of interest. They later surrendered themselves at the Mbabane Police Station on the afternoon of June 28, where they were arrested and charged with murder.
