NHLANGANO- Born in the quiet town of Nhlangano and raised on church hymns, DJ Kayd Boizen is turning spiritual melodies into a global movement, blending gospel emotion with Amapiano rhythms and carving his name into history as Eswatini’s first artist to land a distribution deal with Virgin Music.
Growing up in church, DJ Kayd Boizen says his musical foundation was shaped by gospel harmonies and spiritual depth.
“I grew up in church, so church melodies live in me,” he shares. “When I produce a beat, I always think about something that will touch people emotionally and spiritually.”
That spiritual influence has now evolved into what he describes as “gospel Amapiano”, a sound that blends the popular log-drum-driven South African genre with heartfelt, church-inspired melodies.
“The sound has gospel vibes, those church vibes anyone can relate to,” he explains.
At the heart of his latest production is a powerful message of faith and perseverance. DJ Kayd Boizen reveals that the song was created with people in mind who feel they have tried everything but have yet to see success.
“The audience I had when I produced this beat was everyone who has done everything in life but hasn’t been lucky enough to succeed or accomplish their dream. The song is about faith and trust in God.”
He emphasizes that unwavering belief is the key to breakthrough.
“Have faith in God. He always has a plan no matter how hard you try. Just pray and have faith in Him and see the magic. Have faith in whatever you are doing, everything will fall into place.”
Understanding the spiritual depth of the track, DJ Kayd Boizen was intentional about collaboration. He knew the song required voices that could carry both emotional weight and gospel authenticity.
“When I produced this beat, I knew it needed someone who is spiritually gifted and emotionally connected,” he says. “I thought of Nompumie because she has that gospel voice, that soulful voice. I knew she would deliver.”
He also enlisted the touch of Sdalo B Production, known for his deeply soulful and emotional melodies.
“Anyone who knows Sdalo B understands those soulful, emotional melodies, those touching church vibes,” he adds.
The project has already received strong support from his management team.
“The manager has been happy. They like the song and saw potential in it, so I’m looking forward to releasing it,” he says confidently.
Fans can also expect a visualiser soon, as he confirms that visuals are currently in the works.
Beyond the music, DJ Kayd Boizen’s partnership with Virgin Music marks a significant milestone not only for his career but for Eswatini’s music industry at large. Becoming the first artist from the country to sign such a distribution deal signals a breakthrough moment for local talent aiming for international recognition.
From the pews of church in Nhlangano to global streaming platforms, DJ Kayd Boizen’s journey is a testament to faith, resilience, and the power of sound rooted in spirituality. As he continues to blend gospel emotion with Amapiano rhythm, he is not only crafting hits, he is creating music with a message.
