MBABANE – Several schoolchildren sustained minor injuries on Wednesday morning after a kombi they were travelling in was involved in a road accident near the Eswatini College of Technology along the road to Sidwashini Prison.
The incident occurred during the morning rush as pupils were on their way to school. According to a report by the Times, the kombi was carrying passengers, including learners, when the crash happened. The cause of the accident had not yet been disclosed at the time of publication.
Police confirmed that a number of passengers suffered minor injuries and were transported to Mbabane Government Hospital for treatment. Authorities indicated that no fatalities were recorded.
Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene and began clearing the wreckage while managing traffic flow along the busy stretch of road. Officers remained on site to ensure the safety of other motorists as operations continued.
Drivers using the route between Mbabane and Sidwashini Prison were urged to exercise caution while the scene was being attended to.
