Mbabane- The Ministry of Education and Training has donated 50 desks and 50 chairs to Nkonjwa Primary School, bringing much-needed relief to learners who have been studying under difficult conditions.
The furniture was officially handed over during a brief ceremony graced by the Principal Secretary at the Ministr. Sithobela Member of Parliament, Mancoba Sihlongonyane, expressed sincere gratitude to the ministry for responding to the school’s urgent needs.
Sihlongonyane commended the intervention, noting that it would significantly improve the learning environment for pupils who had long endured a shortage of proper classroom furniture.
Meanwhile, the school’s headteacher, Mongi Mamba, also thanked the Member of Parliament for taking swift action after becoming aware of the school’s challenges.

Mamba revealed that the situation had been dire, with some pupils forced to use stones and water containers as makeshift seats during lessons.
“This support will go a long way in restoring dignity and comfort in our classrooms,” he said.
Also weighing in, Naniki Mnisi, Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Training, commended the school’s performance under the Competency-Based Education framework last year, highlighting it as an example of resilience despite limited resources.
The donation is expected to enhance teaching and learning conditions at the school, while also underscoring the importance of continued collaboration between government and community leaders in addressing infrastructure challenges in rural schools.
