The Minister of Economic Planning and Development, Honourable Dr. E.T. Gina, is leading Eswatini’s delegation at the SADC Council of Ministers meeting taking place today and tomorrow (12–13 March 2026) in Pretoria, South Africa.
The Ordinary Meeting, hosted by South Africa in its capacity as Interim Chair, gathers ministers from SADC Member States to review progress on regional programmes and projects, assess the implementation of decisions from previous Summits and Councils, and discuss priorities for deepening regional integration, economic growth, and resilience.
The meeting operates under the theme: “Advancing Industrialisation, Agricultural Transformation, and Energy Transition for a Resilient SADC,” adopted from the 45th SADC Summit in Madagascar. The agenda focuses on modernising agriculture, promoting sustainable industrial growth, investing in clean energy, and strengthening Southern Africa’s self-reliance.
The Ministry of Economic Planning and Development confirmed that Dr. Gina will provide updates on Eswatini’s contributions to these regional objectives throughout the meeting.
