Mbabane – The Commissioner General of His Majesty’s Correctional Services hosted a colourful farewell for the institution’s Lutsango regiment ahead of this weekend’s Marula Festival at Buhleni Royal Residence.
The send off ceremony, held in preparation for the national Buganu celebrations, brought together Lutsango members drawn from several government linked institutions, including the Eswatini Electricity Company, Motor Vehicle Accident Fund and the Treasury Department.
Officials described the gathering as a display of unity and cultural pride as participants prepare to join thousands of emaSwati expected to attend the annual festival.

Among those present were EEC Managing Director Ernest Mkhonta, MVA Fund Chief Executive Officer Khangeziwe Mabuza and Deputy Accountant General Fikile Dlamini. The dignitaries commended the correctional services regiment for its discipline, hospitality and cooperation during joint rehearsals leading up to the event.
Addressing the group, the Commissioner General expressed pride in the regiment’s dedication and urged members to represent the institution with honour during the cultural ceremony. She noted that their participation reflects both national duty and the organisation’s role in preserving the country’s traditions.
Guests also presented gifts to the Commissioner General as a gesture of appreciation for the leadership and coordination provided by HMCS during preparations.
The ceremony ended with traditional songs and chants, with members of the united regiment departing in high spirits as they prepare to take part in the Buganu Festival, one of the kingdom’s most significant cultural events.
