The Honourable Minister of Natural Resources and Energy, HRH Prince Lonkhokhela, has left the country for Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, where he will represent Eswatini at the 2026 Southern African Development Community Sustainable Energy Week from 23 to 27 February.
According to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy Eswatini, the regional gathering is organised by the Southern African Development Community Secretariat together with Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Energy and Power Development and the SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency.
The meeting seeks to advance economic growth across Southern Africa through the expansion of clean energy and improved energy efficiency. Delegates are expected to deliberate on policy and regulatory frameworks, innovative financing models, grid integration and energy storage, renewable energy technologies, clean cooking solutions and broader efficiency measures.
Officials say the forum will also provide a platform for governments, investors and technical experts to build partnerships and attract funding for sustainable energy projects. Proceedings will include high level plenary sessions, technical presentations and site visits to energy facilities in the host country.
