Ezulwini – The Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology, through the Eswatini National Archives and Records Service (ENARS), hosted a Digital Transformation Strategy Development Workshop yesterday to guide the Kingdom’s shift toward digital record-keeping.
ENARS, established in 1971, has traditionally preserved Eswatini’s paper-based history. With paper records becoming increasingly obsolete, officials are exploring ways to maintain and protect the nation’s story in digital form.
Representing the Principal Secretary, Under Secretary Ms. Macanjana Motsa said, “This document represents more than just a plan for new technology. It is a blueprint for survival, a roadmap for relevance, and a commitment to ensuring the story of Eswatini, in all its forms, is not lost to the ravages of time or the silence of digital obsolescence.”
During the workshop, Mr. Sipho Mkhonta presented the Digital Transformation Strategy, outlining a roadmap for digitization. Participants engaged in group discussions aimed at shaping practical and impactful steps for implementing the strategy.
