Siteki police have arrested three men aged 25, 38, and 33 from Makhewu, Maphungwane, and Sitsatsaweni, along with a 35-year-old woman from Siteki Flame Tree Park, following the murder of a 39-year-old man from Mlindazwe. The victim was found dead at Siteki Flame Tree Park with a stab wound to the stomach.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the incident occurred on February 15, 2026, at around 0200 hours. “It is alleged that a tenant who heard her screams went and informed the suspects, who were enjoying beverages nearby. It is alleged that one of the suspects was sent to the deceased’s house to assist the 38-year-old suspect who is a relative to the girlfriend,” the police report said.
The suspect reportedly confronted the deceased, took out a knife, and stabbed him multiple times in the upper and lower body. The two suspects then carried the injured man and left him not far from his rented flat. At about 1120 hours, a passer-by discovered the body and alerted authorities.
Police launched an investigation and arrested the three men along with the girlfriend on February 16, 2026. They are set to appear before the Siteki Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
The police statement added, “The police strongly condemn acts of mob justice and urge communities to refrain from taking the law into their own hands.”
