Maseru — The Kingdom of Lesotho has marked a key step in its diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia following the presentation of Letters of Credence by His Excellency Mr. Faisal bin Falah Al Harbi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to His Majesty King Letsie III on Thursday, February 5, 2026.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations of Lesotho described the event as a milestone in strengthening relations between the two countries.

The engagement reflects Lesotho’s growing prominence on the international stage and its interest in learning from Saudi Arabia’s modernization programmes, especially in technology and education. The move also aligns with the wider outreach of Gulf Cooperation Council countries to African nations, aimed at expanding cooperation and investment.
Officials noted that further collaboration through general or sector-specific agreements could offer opportunities for investment, technology transfer, sustainable development, and broader international partnerships.
