DUBAI — Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini reported productive discussions with His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Group, focusing on areas crucial to Eswatini’s economic growth, including aviation, logistics, and tourism.
“Today also presented a valuable opportunity to engage with His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Group, on issues central to Eswatini’s development journey. Our discussions focused on aviation, logistics, and tourism as key enablers of economic growth,” Prime Minister Dlamini said.
The talks included Eswatini’s plans to modernise airport infrastructure, develop intermodal transport systems, strengthen rail and road connectivity, and expand dry ports to improve regional and global access. The Prime Minister noted that leveraging the experience and expertise of Emirates and other UAE institutions is vital as Eswatini positions itself as a competitive and well-connected destination.
“As a small state, Eswatini holds a strategic advantage: with the right airline partnerships, targeted market positioning, and smart infrastructure investments, we can stimulate tourism, accelerate trade, and create opportunities for our youthful population. While our economy is growing, the urgency to do more-and do it faster-remains clear,” he added.
Prime Minister Dlamini expressed appreciation for Sheikh Ahmed’s insights into Dubai’s aviation and logistics development and confirmed that Eswatini’s Embassy in the UAE will continue engagement with Emirates. He also extended an invitation for the Emirates team to experience Eswatini’s culture and heritage, noting that sustainable partnerships are built on shared vision as well as economic collaboration.
