MBABANE — Rising Eswatini artist Stella Jacobs hosted a packed listening session for her highly anticipated Inkabikazi EP yesterday at Iconic Studio in Mbabane, attracting a mix of supporters, creatives, and industry figures who gathered to celebrate her music journey.
The event, organised in partnership with Iconic Studio, gave attendees a first listen to the EP while creating a platform for discussion about culture, growth, and the future of Eswatini’s music scene. The strong turnout reflected the growing support for Jacobs and the connection her sound has with local audiences.
Jacobs used the session to share upcoming projects, including a new single she plans to release soon, saying she hopes “listeners will connect with it.” She also spoke about building the Gem of Africa brand, with plans to tour the Lubombo region to bring her music closer to fans and give audiences a deeper understanding of her artistry.
Beyond her music, Jacobs stressed the importance of education alongside creative talent. She told attendees that “creative gifts thrive best when supported by learning and discipline,” expressing her desire to engage with schools and young people across the country.
Fellow artists at the event offered support and encouragement, motivating Jacobs to continue pursuing her career despite the challenges of the music industry.
Banele Dlamini, General Secretary of the Eswatini Events Managers Promoters Association (EEMPA), was among the guests. Dlamini urged artists to communicate strategically and plan ahead, advising them to apply early for major local festivals. He also encouraged young talent to reach out proactively to organisations for support and guidance.
