MBABANE — FNB Eswatini has been certified as a 2026 Top Employer, with the announcement made yesterday by Chief Executive Officer Thokozani TK Dlamini during the bank’s FNB Press Play media engagement held at House on Fire.
Dlamini said the certification reflects the bank’s continued investment in building a workplace that supports talent development, career growth and long term retention, positioning FNB Eswatini as an employer of choice in the Kingdom and the region.
“While we continue working towards making our business the best place to work in Eswatini and the region, it is encouraging to see the work we have done begin to bear fruit. A key focus for us is creating strong talent pathways so our people can grow with FNB and see a future within the organisation,” he said.
He pointed to the career progression of Executive Head of Credit Mphetfo Tshabalala as an example of the bank’s approach to internal development. Tshabalala joined the FirstRand Group in 2016 as a Graduate Trainee and has since progressed into executive leadership within FNB Eswatini.
During the same engagement, Dlamini announced that the bank would host a first of its kind capacitation workshop for business reporters in Eswatini, aimed at strengthening financial and economic reporting in local media.
The full day workshop is being held today and is facilitated by two experienced business and finance journalists from South Africa. It forms part of FNB Eswatini’s 30 Acts of Help Campaign, marking 30 years of the bank’s operations in the Kingdom.
“As FNB Eswatini, we have been celebrating our 30th anniversary with one unshakable promise: ‘Sitintile Eswatini futsi asiyindzawo.’ This commitment has challenged us to think deeply about how we bring meaningful value across various sectors of society, and we are pleased that this includes supporting the development of the local journalism industry,” Dlamini said.
Twenty business reporters drawn from ten media houses across Eswatini are expected to take part in the training.
The bank also recognised 18 journalists currently working in local newsrooms who graduated from various academic and professional programmes in 2025.
Before presenting individual hampers to the graduates, Dlamini spoke on the role of education in national development.
“As a bank, we firmly believe in the power of education to bring about positive change in society. We are proud of you for investing in your development and achieving these qualifications. We are confident that you will play a vital role in advancing journalism and contributing to the growth of our beautiful Kingdom,” he said.
