Red Cross donates clothing to support vulnerable families
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Mbabane – Acting Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla has received a donation of clothing from the Baphalali Eswatini Red Cross Society (BERCS) which will be distributed to vulnerable families across the country through the Asibambaneni Sibe Ngumndeni Programme.

The donation, presented by a representative of BERCS Director, Danger Nhlabatsi, includes clothing for both adults and children, as well as shoes. The items were donated by various individuals and will be distributed as families are identified and documented by the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office.

According to BERCS, the distribution will be coordinated through the Asibambaneni Sibe Ngumndeni Programme, with the office of the acting Prime Minister responsible for identifying families in need during the ongoing documentation process.

Speaking at the handover, Dladla thanked the organisation for its compassion and continued support for underprivileged communities. She said the donation would help address the needs of vulnerable families, particularly children and the elderly.

“Through this programme we have seen how some people abandon their children and the elderly without any care. We are working hard to reunify these families so that children have a sense of belonging,” said Dladla.

She added that as the documentation of families continues, the donated clothing will be distributed to those identified as most in need, calling on the nation to take collective responsibility for the wellbeing of children and older persons.
