JOHANNESBURG – South African actress and fashion entrepreneur Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa says she is embracing a new chapter in her life with love and privacy after years of public scrutiny and a widely publicised divorce from Grammy-winning DJ Black Coffee.
In a recent Nounouche podcast interview, the Essie Apparel founder described her current emotional state as thriving rather than merely surviving. She confirmed that she is in a happy relationship but stressed that she has no plans to share details publicly.
“I’ve realised that the things that are personal to you, you can’t just give to people,” Mlotshwa said. “I don’t need to prove to anyone that I’m in a relationship. If you care for something deeply, you keep it close to your heart.”
She explained that her journey of healing has reinforced the value of privacy, leading her to protect both her relationship and home life. Mlotshwa has been careful to keep her dating life separate from her children, whom she describes as the centre of her world.
Her sons share a close bond with her, enjoying movie nights, pizza Fridays, and open conversations about topics ranging from sex to spirituality. “My children didn’t even know I was dating,” she revealed. “Only recently I mentioned that I was going out on a date, and my older one was like, ‘Yass, okay mum.’ I can see how much they appreciate that I’ve respected them.”
