ETA launches domestic tourism campaign with up to 50% discounts and give away prices

Mbabane: Eswatini Tourism Authority (ETA) has launched a domestic tourism drive dubbed “Ingcayizivele Ikulindzele”, “A wonder Awaits You”.

The campaign is a result of a partnership with Eswatini Tourism and the tourism industry in Eswatini.

Speaking during the launch of the campaign, Eswatini Tourism Authority (ETA) Chief Executive Officer (ECO) Linda Nxumalo said the campaign will bring a lot benefits to the industry and stakeholders with amazing discounts and price give always for the public.

The aim of the campaign is to reposition the industry and regain market share as well as to encourage locals to utilize available local tourism establishments.

The campaign will also enhance and help cultivate the culture of travel amongst emaSwati. A domestic tourism survey carried out had earlier showed that emaSwati do not have the culture of travel, and a lot do not travel to local tourism establishments. Hence this campaign with exciting benefits will cultivate the culture of travel amongst emaSwati. Nxumalo said as ETA they want to see most of emaSwati visiting the tourist establishments in the country.

Discounts

Unpacking the drive Nxumalo said as of September emaSwati can expect exciting discounts when visiting tourism establishments in the country. She said this includes, places like Guest houses, Lodges, Hotels and other tourism establishment sites.

She said for accommodation, people should expect up to 50% discounts, for fun activities within the establishments there will be up to 30%.

To those who do walk-ins for meals and buffet there would be different discounts as per the tourism establishments.

Competitions

She also mentioned that there will be ongoing competitions across all media platforms including social media. She encourage emaSwati that when they should visit tourist establishments, take photos and videos of them and tag social media platforms for Eswatini Tourism, on Instagram and Facebook. Good videos and pictures will then be entered into a draw. This according to Nxumalo will not only create awareness but to create interest and desire and active participation to tourism for emaSwati.

Other exciting offer for the month of September, Nxumalo said there will be a lot of give aways which includes Sponsored transport to visit tourism establishments across the country, Spa treatment, Vouchers for discounted rates, Breakfast, lunch and dinner vouchers, Overnight stays as well as Paid for tourism activities and events.

Even during this campaign Nxumalo said ETA will continue to advocate and ensure for safe travels, by encouraging people to maintain social distance, wearing of masks and regular washing of hands or the use of hand sanitizers to avoid the spread of the coronavirus.
