MBABANE – New in the office. Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (SMVAF). Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Khangeziwe Mabuza has been praised for bringing a transformational work culture to her new role.
Mabuza, who was appointed in early December 2025 on a 12-month secondment, was characterised by the SMVAF exco as “the bullet-train” CEO.
Corporate Executive Sam Mzileni shared insights with the members of the Eswatini Editors’ Forum regarding Mabuza’s vision for the parastatal.

“We have already done engagements and interrogations of ideas as an exco. She really supports and understands the corporate world… We also appreciate the board, which has supported us during this transition,” Mzileni said.
He claims Mabuza teases pleasant thoughts in her new work station and challenges the workforce, particularly the executive committee, with a list of transformative suggestions. She has also been praised for taking a stand to prioritise claims at SMVAF.
SMVAF’s leadership has changed hands following the departure of the previous CEO, David Mfanimpela Myeni, on August 31, 2025, after five years in the position and facing a hearing with other managers over an E59 million procurement issue.
However, Mabuza, who previously served as Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, maintained a coy demeanour. Beaming with excitement, she expressed that the organisation had welcomed her warmly, and she has yet to contemplate her experiences of the first 90 days in office.
“I bring nothing much except to just continue giving back to my King and country, having really thanked them before, and I thank them even now for having accorded me the opportunity to come and serve as a CEO. I never have dreamt of this ever in my life,” she said.
Mabuza also thanked the government for finding her fit for the secondment. Mabuza shared that the media was an important stakeholder for SMVAF and that she hopes for a two-way respect.
“We would have wanted to have the session even much earlier when all was still fresh and there were a few lies that I could have told you then. But God made it possible that we meet today,” she said.
Mabuza said she was also learning a lot from the organisation. She stressed that she arrived with a keen desire to learn.
“I am at a place where you come in as early as 8:00, but the good thing is I wake up every morning really looking forward to coming to work. And I think that is something that I have missed in a long time. You know when you would really feel like you know there’s something new that you’re going to be bringing in,” she said.
“It doesn’t matter whether it will make sense to the team. But I’m in a space where I will just throw in my ideas, and the team is very receptive, and it’s been very welcoming.”
