Accra, Ghana – Ras Mubarak received an official welcome at Independence Square in Accra on Tuesday from Ghana’s Deputy Presidential Spokesperson, Shamima Muslim, as part of his ongoing #VisaFreeAfrica by 2030 campaign. The initiative seeks to promote free movement across African countries, encouraging tourism, unity, and continental integration.
Speaking on the occasion, Ras Mubarak said, “Today at Independence Square in Accra, we rolled in to a warm official welcome on behalf of the Government of Ghana by the formidable Deputy Presidential Spokesperson, Shamima Muslim.”
The campaign, which has involved extensive travel across the continent, has relied on partners, a dedicated campaign team of seven men and one woman, and media coverage from outlets across Africa. Ras Mubarak credited journalists for turning advocacy into a movement, noting, “To every journalist, broadcaster, and outlet that shared our story—from Monrovia to Nairobi, Luanda to Algiers, your coverage turned advocacy into a movement. We are deeply grateful.”
He also acknowledged key supporters behind the campaign, including Francis Kokutse, who organised media coverage across multiple countries, and Hon. Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff, for lending the full weight of his office. Ras Mubarak added, “To my brother, the Minister for Foreign Affairs. You understood the mission, and the support of your Ministry elevated our message to diplomatic levels and opened doors across the continent. Ghana’s leadership on this Pan-African cause is crucial.”
Reflecting on the visit, Ras Mubarak said the experience strengthened his vision for a unified Africa, adding, “We left Accra dreaming of One Africa. We returned with proof: borders can fall, hearts can unite, tourism can boom, and unity is within reach. It was tough, but necessary. The road doesn’t end here, it accelerates. Let’s make #VisaFreeAfricaBy2030 reality. Join the call. Share the vision. Pressure your leaders. One Africa. One people. No visas required. Thank you, Ghana. Thank you, Africa. The journey continues, together.”
