Mbabane – Eswatini Air has signed a strategic partnership with reigning Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) champions, Nsingizini Hotspurs Football Club, in a landmark agreement aimed at expanding both brands’ visibility across Africa and strengthening Eswatini’s footprint in continental sport and business.
“This partnership is a celebration of national pride, unity and a shared vision to elevate Eswatini’s image at home and abroad,” Eswatini Air General Manager Ndumiso Shongwe said adding that the collaboration goes beyond football.
The partnership announced on Thursday brings together the country’s fast-growing national airline and one of its most ambitious football clubs, with the collaboration expected to enhance marketing reach, improve travel logistics for the champions’ regional and CAF engagements, and position Eswatini as a hub for sport, tourism and business travel.
The deal comes just five months after Nsingizini Hotspurs launched their own television programme on SuperSport International, a move that has rapidly elevated the club’s profile across Africa by showcasing its football operations, community initiatives and continental ambitions. Through this exposure, Eswatini Air will gain access to new audiences across multiple African markets via broadcast, digital and in-flight marketing platforms.
The collaboration marks a significant chapter in cooperation between national institutions and sport, highlighting how strategic partnerships can drive economic, social and sporting growth. Eswatini Air, operating under the Royal Eswatini National Airways Corporation (RENAC), currently connects King Mswati III International Airport with major regional cities including Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town and Harare, with further expansion planned.
Under the agreement, Eswatini Air will amplify the club’s visibility at airports, on flights and through coordinated marketing campaigns, while the Hotspurs will benefit from enhanced travel convenience and operational efficiency as they compete domestically and on the continent. The arrangement is expected to significantly boost the club’s CAF competition readiness by ensuring seamless regional and continental travel.
Shongwe said the airline is proud to showcase the Kingdom’s talent and ambition on a wider stage. Beyond commercial benefits, the partnership also opens avenues for joint youth development, grassroots football programmes and community outreach initiatives, aligning sport with national development goals.
Nsingizini Hotspurs CEO Banele Ngobe described the agreement as a reflection of the club’s growing professionalism.
“This partnership demonstrates how football and commercial aviation align globally. It is a winning combination that reinforces Eswatini Air as a winning airline and positions Nsingizini Hotspurs among the most professionally structured clubs in the country,” he said.
Nsingizini Hotspurs, based in the Shiselweni region, are the defending league champions and one of Eswatini’s fastest-rising football brands, with a growing continental media presence through SuperSport.
