Mbabane: Mbabane Highlanders director committed no crime by coming on board to help Manzini Wanderers, this is according to Manzini Wanderers Chairman Bongani “Bhanyaza” Mdluli. The Hub giant chairman was speaking on Thursday evening on Eswatini TV.

The subject was Ally helping Wanderes and the breach of the PLE Constitution Article 21. Mdluli explained it in legal terms that the matter was not against any football statute and that even the EFA Constitution supported the move made by Kgomongwe. Mdluli cited the EFA Constitution Article 4 (1) titled “Promoting Friendly Relations”.

“EFA shall promote friendly relations between its members, clubs, officials and players in the society for humanitarian objectives”. reads the Article and in Article 4 (2), the EFA Constitution provide that: “Every person involved in football is liable to observe the statutes ,regulations and the principles of fair play as well as the principles of loyalty and sportsmanship.” EFA is the supreme football body in the country and they are aware of the PLE Constitutions articles that are against involvement of another clubs official in the others shares and managements, administration and coaching of another club.

Mbabane Highlanders and Manzini Wanderers have come under fire from some sectors for their latest bond which was announced by Highlanders director on Tuesday in a joint press conference held at Happy Valley Hotel, Ezulwini. They argued that they are not the first one to do such, and they put an example of the late PLE Chairman Victor Gamedze who help every team in his turner. They said Wanderers is on the brink of collapsed that is why they decieded to request Kgomongwe to help them find a director, which he has.

This is a humanitarian given by Ally and sportsmanship we have seen even from FIFA. FIFA have released grants to assits its members during these time of the deadly COVID-19 period. The EFA had not made any statements regarding this matter up to today while the PLE Chairman also did not and seemed to agree with the EFA Contitution.
