MBABANE – The Minister for Sports Culture and Youth Affairs has awarded a total of E35 000 in cash prizes to outstanding choirs following their performances at the Tiro Mpane Foundation National Choral Eisteddfod Grand Finale held in December.
His Majesty’s Correctional Services Choir received the largest share of the prize money after winning the Great Champions category and was rewarded with E20 000. Pure Voices claimed first place in the Standard category and received E10 000, while the Mbabane Methodist Church Choir earned E5 000 after finishing third in the Large category.
The awards recognise performances delivered at the national grand finale during the Tiro Mpane Final Competitions, which took place at Sun City in South Africa from December 20 to 21 2025. The competition brought together leading choirs from Eswatini, offering them an opportunity to showcase local choral music beyond the country’s borders.
The minister also recognised individual success in gospel music during the same ceremony. Gospel artist Sphiwo Ndoni was presented with E20 000 after winning Best Song of the Year at the Mpumalanga Gospel Music Awards.
