Manzini – Members of the Technical Development Committee gathered in Manzini on Saturday at Caritas to establish qualifying standards for Eswatini’s 2026 athletics season, despite heavy rain affecting the area.
The meeting focused on preparing athletes for major competitions including the Commonwealth Games 2026, the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, and the AUSC Region 5 Games. The committee also reviewed Athletics Eswatini’s Operational Plan to ensure timelines and priorities are aligned for the upcoming season.
Athletics Eswatini President Zakhele Dlamini attended the session, welcoming members and sharing New Year’s wishes. He outlined expectations for strong technical leadership and encouraged decisive action in setting track and field benchmarks.
Technical experts across track, field, and road running were present, working collectively to raise performance standards and support long-term athlete development ahead of a demanding international calendar.
