South African music star Makhadzi, born Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, was hospitalised after a car accident on her way from Limpopo to Johannesburg on Wednesday morning, 31 December 2025.
Makhadzi Entertainment, her management company, confirmed the incident, saying she is receiving medical care and remains in hospital under close observation. Her condition is reported as stable. The company requested privacy for Makhadzi and her family, adding that further updates will be shared through official channels when appropriate.
The “Vhutshilo” hitmaker has earned multiple accolades at the South African Music Awards and is known for her strong connection with fans nationwide through music and live performances. In July, she returned to Thohoyandou Town in Venda, where she began her career performing at a local shopping centre, to officially launch her upcoming One Woman Show. She described the venue as the starting point of her journey, recalling how she used to sell CDs there before performing on larger stages.
Beyond music, Makhadzi has been active in supporting her community in Limpopo, assisting students with university registration fees, donating food parcels, and providing school shoes to learners. Her One Woman Show, held on 20 and 21 December at Makhuvha and Rabali Stadiums, featured a line-up made up of 90 percent local Limpopo artists.
