Piggs Peak – The Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) has confirmed the death of 90-year-old Dzeliwe Simelane, who had been reported missing in the Piggs Peak area.
REPS issued a statement on Tuesday, December 31, indicating that Simelane was found at Matfuntini Mountain. Police said she was unfortunately deceased at the time she was located.
Simelane went missing on December 19, 2025, at about 3pm, after she was last seen travelling from Matfuntini to her home in Nkamazi, under the Piggs Peak policing area. Her disappearance prompted a search effort involving police officers and community members.
In its statement, the police expressed appreciation to members of the public for their continued assistance and cooperation during the search.
Further details surrounding the circumstances of her death were not immediately released by police.
