Mbabane: The football fraternity has been clipped of an astute administrator following the passing on of former Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) John Mazibuko.

Popularly known as Mwelase, the sad news of his death spread like wild fire yesterday.

Mazibuko saved as PLE CEO for three seasons under the chairmanship of the late Victor Gamedze after replacing Sport ‘Fire’ Dlamini on the hottest seat at Sigwaca House ground floor.

Football administrators including Referees Association Chairman Thulani Mavuso, Young Buffaloes CEO Sandile Gwebu, former Red Lions PRO Comfort Shongwe and PLE Development Officer took turns in expressing the sad news on social media.

Mazibuko was heavenly sent to football as he was seen as a peace enforcer among clubs and dealt brilliantly with sponsors.

During his reign, the PLE had the Castle Premier Challenge, sponsored by Eswatini Beverages on top of league sponsors MTN, knockout tournaments Ingwenyama Cup, Eswatini Bank Cup and the traditional season opener Eswatini Telecom Charity Cup.
