Siphofaneni – Two men linked to a violent break in that shook the Siphofaneni community last month are now in police custody, following an operation led by officers under the Royal Eswatini Police Service.
The suspects, identified as Ncamiso Ngcamphalala and Senzo Bhuti Batista, were arrested this week after investigators traced them to the Mahlabatsini area. Police reported that the pair, together with others who remain on the wanted list, allegedly stormed a homestead in November 2025 where they reportedly used a makeshift firearm to intimidate residents.
According to the police, the group made off with E8 000 in cash, a cellphone and clothing items. Authorities confirmed that Ngcamphalala was out on bail during the time of the offence, while Batista had been evading arrest for unrelated cases.
Law enforcement officials have commended residents in the Siphofaneni and surrounding areas for providing information that assisted in tracking down the suspects. Community members have been urged to continue reporting suspicious activity as the search continues for the remaining wanted individuals believed to be linked to the case.
Police have renewed their call for assistance in locating other suspects who are still at large. Anyone with information has been asked to contact Lubombo RCBO Superintendent Justice Mabuza at 7606 8572, Siphofaneni Desk Officer Assistant Inspector Wellington Dlamini at 7617 7214, Investigating Officer Detective Constable Sindani Dlamini at 7605 4350, or Siphofaneni Police Station at 2344 1222. Emergency numbers 999, 9999 and 112 are also available.
