ACCRA – Ghana will provide free visas to participants of the Diaspora Summit 2025, scheduled for December 19 to 20 at the Accra International Conference Centre, AICC. The announcement follows a pledge by the Minister for Foreign Affairs during the summit’s media launch.
Prospective participants are urged to visit the nearest Ghanaian Embassy, High Commission, or Consulate in their country of residence to obtain visas prior to departure. The initiative is aimed at enabling Africans and people of African descent to participate fully in the summit, which seeks to foster cooperation and forge lasting partnerships in the spirit of Pan-Africanism.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminded attendees that the deadline for online registration via www.diasporasummitghana.org is Monday, December 8, 2025.
Under reciprocal Visa Waiver Agreements, nationals of certain countries holding all passport types including Barbados, Bahamas, Dominica, Mauritius, Seychelles, South Africa, Kenya, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, Singapore, Sao Tome and Principe, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Jamaica, Rwanda, Morocco, Guyana, Saint Vincent and Grenadines, Malawi, and Grenada do not require a visa to travel to Ghana. Diplomatic, Official, and Service passport holders from countries such as Brazil, Colombia, China, Cuba, Germany, Sudan, Türkiye, Namibia, Hungary, Iran, India, Equatorial Guinea, St Kitts and Nevis, Suriname, Venezuela, Malta, and the United Arab Emirates are also exempt.
The Ministry encouraged all registered participants to proceed promptly to Ghana Missions abroad for visa processing.
