Mbabane – The Eswatini Royal Insurance Corporation (ESRIC) has deepened its footprint in national development with a substantial E2 659 000 investment through its 2025 Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme, benefiting more than 30 organisations across the country.
The contribution, unveiled during a handover ceremony at Mountain View, reinforces ESRIC’s position as one of the kingdom’s most consistent champions of community empowerment.
Addressing beneficiaries at the event, ESRIC general manager Zama Ngcobo said the corporation’s commitment goes far beyond financial support. He said the CSI programme was designed to nurture long-term development by strengthening institutions that serve vulnerable communities.
“Our investment is not merely financial support. It is a long-term commitment to empowering organizations that work tirelessly to uplift Eswatini. We believe that strong communities create strong nations, and we are honoured to partner with institutions that make a meaningful difference every day,” Ngcobo said.
Ngcobo highlighted ESRIC’s enduring partnerships with community-based organisations, adding that the corporation’s approach has helped many programmes scale their impact and reach more beneficiaries over the years.
“We remain committed to supporting institutions that advance education, health, development, and opportunity. This investment is part of our broader mission to contribute to a stronger, more resilient Eswatini,” he said.
ESRIC’s 2025 CSI initiative focuses on five core pillars: education, health, social welfare and community development, SME development, and sports and culture. This strategic framework ensures the corporation’s interventions address critical social needs and support diverse sectors of society.
This year’s beneficiaries include schools, youth organisations, medical facilities, orphanages, and community support groups. A significant portion of the funds was channelled toward health, youth empowerment, and social service organisations.
Among the institutions receiving support were the Eswatini Diabetes, Cornerstone, Sifundzani High School, SOS Children’s Villages, the Antivenom Foundation, Mbabane Government Hospital (ICU), SSA Farmers Competition, and Gogo Nde’s orphanage, to mention a few.
ESRIC also extended in-kind support, offering equipment and tools to enhance operational efficiency for several organisations. Notable contributions included essential equipment for the ICU at Mbabane Government Hospital, resources to strengthen rural schools, and materials to support youth competitions promoting agriculture and innovation.
Speaking at the event, Diabetes Eswatini Clinical Officer Nurse Zwakele Bethwel Nkambule expressed deep appreciation for the support received from ESRIC, noting that the donation will significantly strengthen their efforts to raise awareness about diabetes and hypertension, both of which are rising sharply in the country. He added that such assistance enables the organisation to reach more communities with life-saving information and prevention programmes.
He also urged other companies to take inspiration from ESRIC’s model and provide assistance, emphasising that educating the Emaswati on healthy living and effective diabetes management continues to be a national priority.
