MBABANE – The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) has announced a significant reshuffle of its Standing Committees, signaling changes in leadership ahead of key decisions for the national team.
Vice President Nkosingiphile Shongwe has been appointed Chairman of the Technical and Development Committee (TDC), taking over from former Lubombo Regional Football Association leader Nichodemus ‘Ace’ Mashwama.
The TDC’s immediate priority will be to appoint a permanent head coach for the national team, which has been led by interim coach Sifiso ‘Nuro’ Ntibane since the departure of Croatian mentor Zdravko Logarusic after the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Premier League of Eswatini Chairman and third EFA Vice President Polycarp Dlamini now heads the Marketing and Communications Committee, a role previously held by former Vice President Mashumi Shongwe.
Other leadership positions have also seen changes, reflecting a broader restructuring of the EFA executive. EFA Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi ‘Rhoo’ Radebe confirmed the meeting, noting that the appointments are still a work in progress.
“A meeting regarding the appointment of Standing Committees was indeed held,” he said.
The reshuffle follows the 2025 EFA Statutes, which require the Executive Committee to appoint Standing Committees for a four-year term. Chairpersons must be members of the executive, and the ExCo can appoint or dismiss members at any time without general assembly approval.
With the TDC now under new leadership, all eyes are on the national team as football supporters await the announcement of Sihlangu’s next head coach. The appointments mark a fresh start for the EFA and come at a critical time for Eswatini football.
