Lobamba – A 35 year old man from Dlozini has been arrested by the Lobamba Police in connection with the killing of a 34 year old man from Dlangeni. The Royal Eswatini Police Service confirmed that officers apprehended the suspect on 20 November at about 1600 hours after he had been on the run for three days.
The incident occurred on 17 November at around 2113 hours. According to the police, the deceased had been accused by the suspect of stealing dagga and new clothes. Both men were reportedly involved in dagga dealing, and the victim is said to have fled to Sitseni out of fear for his safety after the accusation.
Police reports state that the suspect, accompanied by friends who were believed to be heavily intoxicated, went searching for the deceased after receiving information about his location. They allegedly found him at Sitseni and forcefully took him to Dlozini where he was severely assaulted. The victim was later found lying dead.
The suspect fled the area shortly after the assault but was eventually located and arrested by officers in Dlozini. Police investigations are ongoing.
