Mbabane: Celebrated Eswatini retired international Dennis ‘Yuki’ Masina has named his best XI from former teammates.

From Manzini Wanderers where it all began to Supersport United and Orlando Pirates in South Africa and Sihlangu, the star who played as an attacking midfielder has at least named seven emaSwati in his dream team, him included.

After signing for Umtata Bush Bucks in August 1999, Masina never looked as he went on to enjoy and illustrious career that included stints with Dutch giants Feyernood and Belgium’s KV Machelen. He is one of two emaSwati to play for either Soweto giants’ Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs alongside Sibusiso ‘Spoko’ Dlamini in the last two decades.

‘Yuki’ names Sipho ‘Shilton’ Dube between the sticks as he set his team in a 4-5-1 formation with Wanderers legend Skimmer Mkhatshwa at right back and Mandla Zwane of Supersport at left back.

He goes for a central defence pairing of his captains, Jerry ‘Mbazo’ Gamedze at Wanderers and Sihlangu, Themba Mnguni at Supersport.

In a three-men midfield, he names himself, Frank Makua and Teko Modise, a former teammate at Supersport and Pirates. On the wings, he goes for Sibusiso ‘Spoko’ Dlamini and Tony Tsabedze with John ‘Junior Shisa’ Mdluli as the lone striker.

Masina revealed in the interview that he grew up supporting Mbabane Swallows and Kaizer Chiefs, sides he never got to play for.
