MANZINI – Prime Minister (PM), Russell Mmiso Dlamini, charged Limkokwing University of Creative Technology graduates to create jobs rather than seeking them.
The PM told them to embrace innovation, integrity, and self-reliance as they enter the world of work.
“Limkokwing graduates do not have to seek for a job. They should create jobs,” Dlamini said, urging the young people to become fearless innovators who see opportunities where others see obstacles.
Speaking at the institution’s 12th graduation ceremony in Manzini, he said the campus aligns with His Majesty King Mswati III’s vision of transforming Eswatini into a developed sate.
He said education remains a priority for national development. The PM said the government will continue to invest in education, equipping citizens with skills that drive growth and reduce unemployment.
The PM noted the introduction of degree programmes as the institution’s growth. He also hopes that more technical and vocational training (TVET) centres could strategically lead to a path of national prosperity. Dlamini, however, challenged Limkokwing university to establish a permanent campus in the Kingdom, pledging government’s continued support toward that goal.
Dlamini also used the platform to caution the youth about rising HIV and AIDS infections, noting that over 4,000 young people are infected annually in Eswatini.
“Our goal must be to eliminate HIV and AIDS in our lifetime,” he said, encouraging graduates to uphold discipline, self-respect, and moral responsibility.
Turning to corruption, he urged graduates to be agents of integrity and transparency.
“Let integrity and discipline be the cornerstone of our nation’s progress,” he said. “Let us build an Eswatini that is educated, prosperous, and free from corruption, a nation where every young person has the opportunity to learn, to work, to innovate, and to thrive.”
