Mbabane – The Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla officially handed over three newly constructed houses to local families yesterday, providing much-needed security and stability for residents affected by recent hardships.
The first house went to Mamane Simelane of Timbutini, Mafutseni, whose previous home was destroyed during recent civil unrest. The new residence offers a safe and dignified space for her and her children. Sijabulile Tsabedze from Makholweni, Fairview North, received a second house to replace her deteriorating makeshift shelter, ensuring her family’s well-being. The third home was given to Gogo Nomsa Lukhele in Lozitha, Ludzeludze, securing a safe dwelling for the elderly resident.

The Deputy Prime Minister also announced a collaboration between her office, the Eswatini Environmental Authority, and the Forestry Department. This initiative provides fruit trees to each new household, supporting nutrition, climate resilience, and sustainable living.
During the handovers, Dladla condemned abuse and neglect of the elderly, stressing that children have a responsibility to protect and respect their parents. She warned that any violence against elders undermines the stability of families and communities.
The Deputy Prime Minister called on citizens to foster unity and mutual care, noting that internal conflict diverts resources from national development.
