Mbabane – The Eswatini Energy Regulatory Authority (ESERA) has completed its first Solar PV Installer Accreditation Assessments, marking a significant step towards formalising professional standards in the country’s solar energy sector.
The three-day assessment was held this week under the Solar PV Installer Accreditation Programme. The first day tested Level 2 PV Mounters, focusing on theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to work under supervision.
On the second and third days, candidates undertook the Level 3 PV Installer assessment, where they demonstrated their competence in designing, installing, and commissioning solar PV systems safely and efficiently.
The initiative is a joint effort between ESERA and the Ministry of Labour and Social Security’s Directorate of Industrial and Vocational Training (DIVT). It aims to set national benchmarks for safety, quality, and competency in the solar energy field.
