Mbabane – Mbabane East Member of Parliament (MP) Welcome Dlamini, whose constituency also covers Mangwaneni, has vowed to take land dispute matters of the area into parliament.
Dlamini said the reason for pledging to raise the issue in Parliament was to seek for a permanent resolution in the issue.
“The issue of Mangwaneni is not being left lying down. There are moves to sort it out, and I will make noise in Parliament until it is solved so that normal operations can resume in the community because what is currently happening is disheartening but we are committed to working around the clock until we find lasting solutions in the matter,” Dlamini said, but such a resolution would have to address the standing legal dispute.
Mangwaneni is one of the unique land disputes between the urban local government, MCM and the Royal Kraal located in the area.
A 1993 legal notice allegedly transferred Mangwaneni to be incorporated into MCM but customary leaders are opposed.
