Ngwempisi – Day two of the Ngwempisi Communities Workshop centered on gender equality in biodiversity conservation, with sessions led by facilitator Victoria Khumalo. The workshop examined how gender perspectives shape the sustainable use and management of natural resources.
The Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT Gender Team joined the sessions, supporting efforts to integrate gender equality into national biodiversity planning and implementation.
Community members shared visions for inclusive and resilient communities that protect both biodiversity and local livelihoods. The day ended with focus group discussions for women, men, and youth, exploring how gender dynamics influence conservation efforts in the Ngwempisi Rural Development Area.
