Mbabane – Nokulunga Ginindza, 28, from Mahwalala, appeared before the Mbabane Magistrates Court after being charged with theft for taking a cellphone valued at E700 belonging to Mandla Dlamini.
During the hearing, Ginindza admitted to unlawfully taking the phone, saying she acted out of anger and desperation after a promise made by Dlamini was not fulfilled. She told the court that she is unemployed and solely responsible for raising her child.
“I acted out of frustration, Your Worship. I am asking for forgiveness. I have a child who needs me, and I am not working,” Ginindza said, her voice filled with regret.
The court took her personal circumstances into account before delivering its judgment. Ginindza was sentenced to pay a fine of E1 000 or serve 10 months imprisonment.
