MBABANE — The Royal Eswatini Police Service has intensified its crackdown on drug trafficking and illegal cultivation of dagga through a nationwide operation code-named Thunder Operation.
The campaign aims to curb the spread of drug-related activities across the country following growing concerns about the impact of narcotics on local communities.
During one of the operations on October 13, 2025, Tshaneni Police arrested three suspects aged 67, 52, and 21 from Njakeni after they were found in possession of dagga weighing 184.5 kilograms. The drugs were discovered inside a house at Singeni area, and the suspects have since been charged.
Police have also carried out field destruction exercises in Siteki and surrounding areas, where several dagga plantations were sprayed and uprooted.
