MBABANE – Forty-two Rural Health Motivators from across Eswatini have completed specialised training to help prevent and manage diabetes and hypertension within their communities. The programme was organised by the Taiwan Technical Mission’s NCD Project in partnership with the Ministry of Health Eswatini and ran for two and a half days at Malkerns Country Club.
During the training, participants learned to recognise early warning signs of non-communicable diseases, monitor blood pressure and blood sugar levels, and encourage balanced diets and healthy lifestyles tailored to local communities.
Armed with these skills, the motivators will return to their villages and towns as health ambassadors, supporting residents in reducing the risks of chronic illnesses and promoting healthier daily habits.
