Matsapha – The His Majesty’s Correctional Services (HMCS) Choral Choir delivered a remarkable performance at the Tiro Mpane Foundation National Choral Eisteddfod, held at Esibayeni Lodge on Sunday, earning a platinum rating and first place in the competition.
The choir impressed both the audience and judges with their mastery of African and classical music. Their rendition of Izibongo zikaShaka by J.M. Khumalo, rich in traditional Swazi rhythm, and Gloria & Cum Sancto Spirito – Messe Solennelle by R.A. Rossini, earned them an outstanding score of 91 percent.
Commissioner Phindile Glory Sibandze, representing Commissioner General LaMakhosini Phindile Dlamini, said the win reflected the hard work, commitment, and discipline of the choristers.
The hall erupted in celebration when the results were announced, marking a proud moment for the Correctional Services.
