Mbabane – The Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs has signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding with the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security to strengthen cooperation in climate change, environmental management and energy development.
The agreement, supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), was signed by Principal Secretary Khangeziwe Mabuza on behalf of Eswatini and the Italian Ambassador to South Africa, Gabriele Annis, representing Italy.

The partnership seeks to build Eswatini’s capacity in nuclear energy, biodiversity conservation and ecosystem management. Over €3 million has already been received in the first phase of the collaboration, with additional support expected in the coming years.
Both countries expressed optimism that the initiative will promote sustainable development through innovation and private sector participation.
